Get rich quick?

There are a countless number of get rich quick schemes in the world today. Whether by buying an ironclad formula to make money at real-estate, or how to use pyramid scheme-like affiliate programs, there is a seemingly never ending supply of people who want quick ways to become a millionaire. There is nothing inherently wrong with wanting to become wealthy. Who wouldn’t want a nearly unlimited amount of time to focus on bettering themselves?

There is good news, however, as being wealthy is easier today than ever before. There are literally a million ways to make a million dollars. Every day you’ll find that new get rich article on many blogs. The way I am going to explain it- like many of my posts so far- is far more simple than most people want to believe. It really isn’t even a new way to get rich, but old as being a millionaire itself. It also entirely depends on the individual (which is what most people don’t like hearing). What is this old way?:

Pick something, and become better at it than anyone else.

This may be an epiphany for some, but disheartening for others. It is absolutely true, however. It doesn’t really matter what it is (unless you want to be better at anyone else in the world at giving all your money away- which is fine, too, if that brings you joy), as long as you become the best- or among the best- in the world at it.

The top athletes in the world make millions of dollars. Many professional sports players who do not actually play many games still make hundreds of thousands a year.

The top bass-fishermen of the world make more money than many other fishermen.

The top chess player makes tens of thousands from endorsements .

It really does not need to be something spectacular!

How to go about it.

Begin by choosing something you’re good at. More importantly, however, choose something you love. My wife is good at calculating our bills and monthly budgets, but that isn’t something she loves doing or would want to make a career out of it. What is it you love doing? What is it that expresses you as a person? Is there something that uniquely defines you that not many other people you know have an expertise in? Perhaps it is your anchor? Whatever it is, find it, and you’re halfway there.

It could be blogging, jogging, running, row-boating, lecturing, speaking publicly, writing, illustrating, painting, singing, manufacturing, starting businesses- there are an endless amount of things in this world to become an expert at, and improve on.

The next step is to become very, very good at it. You need not become better than literally everyone else in the world, though that would be good. You only have to become better than most people. Once you are, find avenues to both show the world that you are better!

A very good chess player could enter tournaments and become a world champion.

A good kick boxer would enter a league and rise to the top.

A good blogger would begin writing and become popular.

Rise to the occasion.

It’s almost too simple in plain words, isn’t it? While it is simple, it is not easy. It takes hours of determination and study to become good at anything, much less better than most people. Nonetheless, choosing something you love, and becoming great at it, is a surefire way to become a millionaire. Would you be willing to step out on a limb of your own talents and leave the everyday 9-5 job market? Of course you are, because it only takes you, and the decision to better yourself now and not later.

There is a millionaire waiting inside all of us.
