I'm already living like this. I'm not wealthy, but I go where I want when I want. Ironically, I heard the same fable of the fisherman and the tourist in Business School. It's funny to think that what life has to offer can be bought. If you think about it..."the best things in life are free." Friendship is one of the best things in life. If you know what you want to do when you retire, then you should start doing those things now. Get good at golf...work at a resort and get free golf and lessons. Retire on a yacht...join a sailing club and learn the basics and meet people who are willing to teach you more. People with passions are happy to share their passions with others. I've found that people who really like something are more likely to tell you everything you will ever need to know and will be happy to help you get to the same place as they are. If you want to retire in the tropics, then go live there right now...see if it is what you imagined it would be. I've learned in heart-breaking relationships that sometimes we want the relationship to be so much more than it is, so we start loving what we want it to be, instead of what it really is. Dreams are the same way unless we can show ourselves the true identity and qualities along with the short comings of the dream. I say retire ten times. Get bored with paradise.
